We all understand the value of finding an amazing app, so we thought we would share our favourites with you over the next few weeks. Some of them are work related and some of them are personal ones that some of the team swear by. Whether it be tracking your processes or monitoring your sleep patterns there are apps out there to help.
This app has been a lifesaver for us at 3rd Arm. It provides an easy step-by-step way to document your company’s standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies and processes. It can serve as a training tool for new staff, it can be used to check off steps in a procedure and you can setup tasks so that regular and repetitive jobs are not forgotten. Regardless of what you use it for we all know how important it is to have documented processes and procedures for every little task in your office. Sweet Process makes this seamless, gives you the ability to decide who can access what and ensures that no matter what, someone can step in and follow the process reducing your vulnerability to staff loss, sickness or just reduces the chance of something being missed.
Every single day the 3rd Arm team are required to login to multiple apps, websites, servers etc. on many different occasions. LastPass provides a safe and secure way to store this information for you. This app is an easy to access storage facility for all your login details for everything from your banking passwords, to credit card numbers and all in between. Because this remembers all your passwords for you it is easier to move away from having one standard password for every different login and allows you to have unique passwords (yep the app does that too) for every different website you log into. It produces strong and unique passwords therefore improving your online security and the best thing is the only password you have to remember is your master LastPass one. The rest are taken care of for you.
What a great find Trello was for us. It’s so simple to use and the easiest way to collaborate with your team on projects, meetings and to-do lists, to name but a few. You can organise and track progress on tasks, setup reminders and diarise important jobs. The best thing is that it’s all online so all team members can update boards, cards and lists (and share them with each other) in one place so you know that what you are looking at is up to date in real time. Another app that is as easy to use on your phone as it is on your computer.
